when is the movie showing? and why are they banning it? i haven't read the series, actually. speaking of series, i wonder if they're planning to do film versions of the artemis fowl series. hmm...
They're showing it in December, methinks. The books angered Catholics because of some explicit statements stuff implying that the Church is oppressive (among other things). Parang nung nangyari sa Harry Potter and The Da Vinci Code na madaming tumutol dahil taliwas sa mga turo ng Simbahan. Di baleng fictional ang lahat ng mga nabanggit na nobela.
The director and producers tried to remove the religious (and anti-religious) undertones in the movie, kaya ang mga nagalit naman yung mga atheist.
I love the Artemis Fowl series, too! I think there's gonna be a movie, but I don't know if they've gone into production already. Do you have a copy of The Lost Colony?
the lost colony's the latest one right? i don't have that yet. =( ria's waiting for a paperback version. sheesh, does anyone have a concept of an "open mind"? it's so annoying...
